England secured their place in the Round of 16 of the 2022 World Cup by beating Wales 3-0 in the last round of the group stage. With the first part of the championship over, it’s time for coach Gareth Southgates’ team to start thinking about the round of 16.

The Three Lions team beat Iran in the opener, played the United States without much inspiration in the second round and made a good 3-0 victory after a very weak first half to defeat the eliminated Welsh.
The English team secured first place with seven points – the USA took second place after an emotional duel against Iran.

England opponents in round of 16

The classification of this World Cup combines Group B with Group A. The first place in one group faces the second place in the other. With that, England’s opponent in the round of 16 of the World Cup will be Senegal, runner-up in the group led by the Netherlands.
The match between England and Senegal is scheduled for December 4, at 4 pm (Brasília time).

France
The French team was the first to secure qualification for the round of 16 of the competition, beating Denmark 2-1, thanks to two goals from Mbappé in the second phase. In the opening game, the defending champions beat Australia 4–1. The defeat to Tunisia in the last round also did not take away the lead from the French.

Brazil

Brazil qualified for the Round of 16 of the World Cup in Qatar. With victories over Serbia and Switzerland, the Brazilian team secured a place in Group G. The Tites team will now face Cameroon on Friday (2) in search of the leadership of the group. Serbia, Switzerland and Cameroon are battling it out for second place in the group.

Portugal

With the two triumphs, Portugal is qualified for the round of 16. The national team only needs a draw against South Korea to finish the group stage at the top of the group.

Netherlands

The Dutch are classified as leaders of Group A for the round of 16. As much as the performance on the field sometimes left something to be desired, the Dutch ended the first phase undefeated with seven points out of nine possible.
